The Firsts turned in a display of power and commitment to win away at Stoke on Trent on Saturday. The 14 - 8 scoreline does not really reflect the game as Stoke managed to score their try in time added on and when Whitchurch were down to 14 men after an inexplicable yellow card. Stoke are a hard side to beat at home but the reds went there determined and thoroughly deserved their win.
The Seconds won comfortably against high flying Didsbury running out 47 - 25 victors. Able to put out a strong side for the first time in weeks, they were 25 -10 ahead at the break and, despite a spirited fightback by the visitors, were more than capable of holding them and going on to win handsomely. There were several players who have played for the seconds playing in the firsts on Saturday and shows that places have to be fought for this season and that all are part of the first team squad.
